Pierre Montale spent years working in Saudi Arabia before founding his house in Paris, and it shows — this is a French niche brand built on genuinely Arabian sensibilities.
What to try
Black Aoud is the signature: rose and oud in their most uncompromising form, enormously powerful and not remotely subtle. Intense Café went in the opposite direction and became a cult hit — coffee, rose and vanilla, sweet and deeply comforting. Roses Musk and Roses Elixir handle the softer rose territory. Arabians Tonka and Starry Nights return to oud.
Montale performance is exceptional. Two sprays will last the day.
